FDA Helping the FAA

According to the headline, the FDA – the Food and Drug Administration – has certified an airplane to fly. I guess the FAA – the Federal Aviation Administration – was a tad too busy that day.

But it’s only the headline that’s in error. The body of the article correctly reports that the FAA, not the FDA, granted the certification.

Huntsville (Alabama) Times, August 20, 2011, page B1. Susanna Ray of the Bloomberg News is the reporter … but no one is telling who set the headline.
